1. Simple Matcha Latte
3/4 cup milk of your choice
1 teaspoon matcha powder
1/4 cup boiling water
1/2 tablespoon honey or agave syrup
Bring 3/4 cup of almond milk, soy milk, rice milk, or cow’s milk to a low simmer in a small pot or sauce pan over medium-high heat.
Place 1 teaspoon matcha powder in a mug or other heat-proof cup. Slowly whisk in 1/4 cup boiling water, then almond milk, tipping cup slightly to help create more foam. If you have a frother, you can use that as well. Sweeten with honey or agave syrup.
2. Matcha Coconut Latte
½ cup hot water
½ cup organic light or full fat coconut milk
1 teaspoon matcha tea powder
1 tablespoon coconut sugar
Optional: Coconut extract
Add your Matcha tea powder to half of the hot water in a mug (or tea bowl, if you use one). Whisk the tea powder and water together to create a paste.
After simmering your coconut milk in a pot or saucepan or medium-high heat, add it and the remaining hot water to your paste and stir – it should dissolve easily. If you have a frother, go ahead and froth to your desired texture. You can also reserve some of your coconut milk and froth it separately and add it to the top of your tea.
For an extra coconut flavor, add a few drops of coconut extract.
3. Mint Matcha Latte
3/4 cup non-dairy milk, vanilla*
3/4 cup water
1 tsp matcha green tea powder
1-3 tsp agave syrup (or to taste)
MINT: (3 options) about 3 drops of peppermint extract, organic OR 1 peppermint tea bag OR 1 large sprig of fresh mint
Heat the water in a small sauce pot, until just before boiling. Add your “mint” to the water. If this is via tea or fresh mint, allow to steep and sit for at least a minute. If using a peppermint extract, you do not need to wait at all.
Remove the tea bag or mint sprig before proceeding to the next step. You can pour the minted water into your serving mug or glass – or keep in the pot (either way works.)
Add the matcha to the water and begin whisking briskly. Use a bamboo matcha whisk if you have one -this helps to prevent clumping. (A basic spoon or fork works too.)
Once the matcha has mostly dissolved in the water, it should be a bright dark green color with a few clumps most likely. TIP: try using a sifter to add the matcha as you stir, to lessen clumping.Heat your non-dairy milk. Bring to a boil either via your stove top or microwave. Add the steamy hot non-dairy milk to your serving glass – mixing with the matcha water.
Stir in the agave syrup to sweeten. Stevia, maple syrup or organic sugar can also be used.
This makes a deliciously seasonal fall drink.
1 1/4 cups of unsweetemed soy milk
1 1/2 Tbsp. Pumpkin puree
1/2 tsp. of pumpkin pie spice
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 Tbsp. water
1 1/2 tsp. matcha powder
2 Tbsp. organic cane sugar or other sweetener
In a small saucepan, add pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla extract. Heat over low heat, stiring constantly so it doesn’t burn.
Then, take your matcha powder and water and add it to your pumpkin mixture in the saucepan, whisk together to form a paste. Next, stir in your choice of milk until everything is dissolved and combined. Add your choice of sweetener.
If you feel like making it an extra special treat, top with whipped cream and cinnamon. 🙂
5. Matcha Vanilla Latte
This is a simple matcha recipe with a vanilla twist.
1 1/4 cup organic milk (soy, almond, coconut, or cows milk) you can even try vanilla flavored almond or coconut
1 tsp. matcha powder
1 Tbsp. sweetener (honey, agave, raw sugar)
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/4 cup water
In a small saucepan, heat milk over low-medium heat and bring to a simmer.
Next, add vanilla extract and your choice of sweetener to milk, whisking to combine. Turn off heat. Meanwhile, heat your 1/4 cup water and combine with matcha in your tea bowl or mug. Whisk briskly until matcha is dissolved.
Pour your milk mixture into matcha and enjoy!
½ tsp matcha green tea powder
2 Tbs Boiled water
1 cup / 250mls Almond Milk
¼ tsp vanilla (or almond) extract
½ tsp honey to taste (optional)
Whisk together the matcha powder and cinnamon with the water until fully dissolved.
Next, warm the almond milk in a saucepan until hot, but not boiling. Pour in the green liquid and the vanilla extract. Using a handheld immersion blender, blend the tea & milk till fully incorporated. Since the milk is warm it should just naturally froth up. Taste, and add honey if too bitter (this will depend on the type and grade of matcha you have)
7. Iced matcha green tea latte recipe
2tsp Gotcha Matcha
Fresh filtered water
Milk (cow, almond, soy or rice – we recommend almond)
Kitchen accessory for frothing milk
Optional: Add flavors with chai spice, cinnamon, vanilla or coconut
Fill martini shaker with 1 cup ice then sift 2 tsps Gotcha Matcha into a martini shaker along with half cup fresh filtered water.
Shake well, and pour into a tall glass with fresh ice.
Finish with 3 oz frothed chilled milk – cow, almond, soy or rice and add flavors with chai spice, cinnamon, vanilla or coconut.
4 to 6oz Unsweetened Almond Milk
2 tablespoons Light Agave Syrup
1 tablespoon Matcha Powder
Take matcha powder, agave syrup and 1/4th a cup of warm (not boiling) water from the kettle and mix them all together.
Add your matcha mixture with 4 to 6oz of unsweetened almond milk.
Pour everything into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake vigorously and enjoy!
